Consignment FAQ

What is a consignment sale firearm?

A consignment sale firearm is one that is sold from one customer to another. We list the gun as part of our inventory and display it for others to inspect. This also means we can ship your firearm to any buyer’s selected FFL dealer.

Your buyers get many more purchase options to pay for your weapons such as Affirm financing, Paypal, and credit cards. We handle the e-payments and all the legal paperwork to ensure the firearm is properly transferred to the buyer.

How is this different than selling to a pawn shop or gun store?

You will almost always fetch a better price. Pawn shops and gun stores must turn as much of a profit as possible. This means they will give you the lowest possible price for your firearms. In some cases, you may not know the true value of a gun.

This is where they take advantage of customer ignorance and keep you from getting even close to what the item is worth. If you aren’t the type that is willing to do some research, especially on older firearms, you could be missing out on a good portion of its value.

Why not just do a private sale?

This is fine for those that may sell a gun every so often, but you start to get into legal issues that you may not be prepared for. For example, selling multiple firearms in a short amount of time requires a license. This is regardless of state law.

Private sales can be hard to do unless you’re at a gun show where people are looking for what you have. Allowing your firearm to be sold via consignment puts it available both in our shop as well as listed online.

Selling via consignment provides protection.

There’s also a liability aspect to consider. While someone may seem like an upstanding citizen, you have no way of knowing their past. Having a licensed FFL dealer sell your firearm allows a legal buffer that is taken on by the necessary background checks completed through the NCIS system.

FFL dealers are trained to recognize certain signs that an individual may not be being honest about their intentions with the firearm purchase. Rather than let a good gun fall into the hands of bad people, let us take care of everything for you.

It doesn’t cost a thing to have a value consultation. Book yours, now!
