Firearm Industry News: Dealers “Gun-shy” During Election Season
It may be a play on words but it fits the current situation. As a new business owner in this landscape, I can already see a few trends that are affecting gun sales.
Many of these trends seem exasperated now that it is during the election season. And for a multitude of reasons, it is directly affecting gun sales across the United States. There seems to be two extremes.
From the consumer side, demand is high due to the unknown results of the election. Will there be civil unrest? Will there be new laws put into effect that would restrict the right to own certain firearms in the future? Only time will tell.
From the dealer aspect, many don’t want to invest in additional inventory. Mainly for the same reason. A fear of the unknown. It doesn’t make sense to bring more things into the shop if you aren’t sure how your business may be affected by the election results.
There has been a lot of talk from those on the political trail about additional restrictions around guns and ammunition. It is a safe bet who many in this industry will be voting for. But even if the results go the way many hope, things aren’t guaranteed to settle down.
The increase in political violence coupled with the population’s lack of empathy for their fellow man is a recipe for disaster. That’s just this writer’s opinion, though. I’m just a normal guy trying to serve my community.
Keeping this short and sweet. I just wanted to voice my thoughts on what I’ve seen in the business here lately. Go vote and protect your freedoms!
